Why has syncing with Facebook been removed? Really impacts on the usefulness of this app.
Is this just something that's been pulled from the beta and will return in the main release?
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
EDIT: October 18 – This has been edited to reflect the Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 official RTM/GA release.
I've just installed the 8.1 Preview on a desktop. EDIT: 10/17/2013-this is also true for RTM. The Photos App has changed:

3. Live Tile functionality has disappeared.

Tiles are working, but images change only 1x per day. This needs to be a shorter period.

Also, what happened to:
* Viewing by date
* The panorama view which was default upon opening the old app
And whats up with:
* The email app blue theme? Let the pictures define the colors!
* My 15" inch screen only showing 3 rows, despite the fact that the start screen and the old app can show 4 rows on the same resolution
When I open the Photos app; it shows nothing.
There are photos in my User\Pictures folder. There are plenty of pictures in my SkyDrive folder. There are heaps of pictures in my Facebook account.
The app doesn't allow me to change the location at the top. it just displays "This PC"
If I use the "Create Folder" option the folder appears and is visible in the File Explorer on the desktop where I expect the pictures should be.
After upgrade to Windows 8.1 RT, Photos App has no connection support for cloud (Facebook, Skydrive, etc)
I completely agree. this is madness. how do I use the default application to view my media. I don't want to (or can't when I can TBs of media) store everything in Skydrive.
