Hi, I don't know where to start. This is the second time I've been prompted to enter a 'code' that shall grant me access to my email even though I've only ever logged into it from the one address. I'd been forced to enter an email before which I'm sure is where the previous code was sent. What I don't understand is that if this is for my 'security' how was I able to change that email to something else completely - bounce it to a mate in across the globe who happened to be on the phone with me, who gave me the code to enter to access my own bloody email? Why does someone need to have an email to access an email? And how the **** does that work if you have 2 outlook addresses which require a code from the other locked outlook address? All your doing is pushing people to Gmail duh. When outlook prompted me saying "hey enter the code we sent you" What is the use of being able to change the email to anything you want? Is that secure or just 'Microsoft secure'? If I can change the email to whatever I want to get the code that's needed is this so much a security aspect for outlook or just an info grab so you can record peoples alternate email addresses? No, I'm not giving you my phone number, I have less security on my bank accounts and credit cards whose security is impeccable - its hotmail, get over it and let us just have our 'secret question'. after about a year I finally got into my account. my problem was my phone number had changed and the stupid form failed everytime. I told them my details and to look in my account they never did. I was blocked out with. "it appears someone else maybe using your account" this was an outright lie as it had 900 unread messages it had my picture on the profile and my full name and loads of paypal stuff in my name so I was blocked for no reason. if it asks you to verify a number you no longer have message me on fb and I will tell you how to access your old number. please note you will need id to be able to do it the same way so don't waste your time thinking it can be used to hack in someones account it can't. RE: Repeatedly being prompted to enter Security Codes +30 day wait to access your account. Obviously the people at Microsoft are not listening yet again! The number of times I get prompted to type a security code is annoying and irritating for every time I logon to my account. It should be down to the user to manage their security on their own accounts without Microsoft having to interven every time a user signs up. If I update my security questions I then have to wait an additional 30 days to access my ACCOUNT.. This needs to be reduced to 3-5 working days. We aren't ready for you yet. Your 30-day waiting period ends on 18/03/2015. Until then, you won't be able to sign in to your account unless you've found your security info. You wonder why there is a slow sign up to Office365 when you keep on getting prompted by the Security Code questions everytime you sign on..

I can't access my security code because I can't access my other hotmail address because I can't access my security code. Somebody must be laughing his **** off at Microsoft for pulling this never ending prank.

Since I started forwarding all my mail to another service, I havent had a problem anymore. It also works fine on my Android phone. It only asks me to verify now if I try to sign in directly into Outlook.com (Hotmail), so I dont even bother. Its been working several months like this now. I can delete them at Outlook from my other computer on Chrome instead of Explorer. This makes me think their security thing is linked to those using Internet Explorer.
