Hi, I don't know where to start. This is the second time I've been prompted to enter a 'code' that shall grant me access to my email even though I've only ever logged into it from the one address. I'd been forced to enter an email before which I'm sure is where the previous code was sent. What I don't understand is that if this is for my 'security' how was I able to change that email to something else completely - bounce it to a mate in across the globe who happened to be on the phone with me, who gave me the code to enter to access my own bloody email? Why does someone need to have an email to access an email? And how the **** does that work if you have 2 outlook addresses which require a code from the other locked outlook address? All your doing is pushing people to Gmail duh. When outlook prompted me saying "hey enter the code we sent you" What is the use of being able to change the email to anything you want? Is that secure or just 'Microsoft secure'? If I can change the email to whatever I want to get the code that's needed is this so much a security aspect for outlook or just an info grab so you can record peoples alternate email addresses? No, I'm not giving you my phone number, I have less security on my bank accounts and credit cards whose security is impeccable - its hotmail, get over it and let us just have our 'secret question'. God yes I agree. I tried to follow the instructions to turn off the two step security code, and in order to access that area I had to get that stupid security code. This is becoming not worth it. I have an ooooold archaic email account with a company named Astound (they're out of Wisconsin of all places) it's web based, I can send and receive email and never get any of the **** that I get from microsoft or gmail. I use these email accounts for work and I don't have time to play all these games with the codes.

Yeah, this is so ridiculous. So my email account isn't receiving Microsoft Account stuff anymore, and it didn't have my phone number...so now I have to wait 30 freaking days for Microsoft on this ****. Talk about cumbersome and annoying. Not to mention this is like my fiftieth time inputting these codes. Can't they just go back to just letting stuff work?! I put my password in. The password is enough!

Honestly Microsoft i hope you get to read this...screw you. If i eventually get into my email. Im re directing everything i need to GMail and never looking back. Why should it take me 20 mins bouncing through various email addresses just to check my OWN inbox. Further more, why dont you listen to your own users/customers. Its so frustrating That was the last straw, GMAIL all the way.

Thank god theres a place I can vent my frustration on the new security measures. When I was younger I had a yahoo account which I deactivated probably about a decade ago. Turns out I used that yahoo account as my new hotmail backup to send forgotten passwords to what have you. They want me to verify im really me by going to my yahoo? Not gonna happen. Somehow afyer trying to get through since about june or july? Ive made my way in to my hotmail- but the only screen there is my personal info and 'billing' stuff! Im so confused and annoyed I cant wait yo just deactivate my account once and for all.

Well the 6th came and went and Im still able to get into the account...wouldnt you know when I said I guaranteed it would screw up again, it didnt. I have left it set to forward to another email addy, but saving a copy on Hotmail too. It also always works on my Android phone. This is the first time in 7 months that it didnt ask me for a code to get in to the hotmail account on the 6th of the month like clockwork. I wonder if having it forwarded has anything to do with it.....? Like I said at the beginning, I want to keep the hotmail (or Live/ Outlook or whatever flavor of the day) because people I dont see for years all know that address. As long as it works Im happy...just wish theyd quit messing with it. Like everything else in the commercial world, new and improved means totally screwed up. I cant think of anything new and improved thats better than the original. Im a car painter and all the stuff on new cars that safer and better is trash. Now your cars are being painted with latex house (waterbase) paint.
