How to change pre-login image in Windows 8

This is a home computer that has several accounts.  The image displayed is Seattle which is not the lock image for any account (including the hidden administrator account).  I would like to change this pre-login/sign-out image to something (anything) else.   What steps do I need to take to avoid having to look at this stupid image (sorry Microsoft, not all of us are from Seattle nor want any image that looks drawn from crayons)?

Before I approach towards any suggestion, I would like to collect some information on thsis issue:

Are you referring to the Local screen on the computer?

If you are referring to Lock screen on the computer, then let us try the following steps by navigating to “Change PC settings” on the computer.

Please follow the steps:

a) Press Windows and c key together to open the Charms bar.

b) Click on Settings.

c) Click on Change PC settings option at the bottom of the charms bar.

d) Click on Personalize option.

e) Click on Lock Screen.

f) Choose the required picture you want to save as the lock screen picture.

To make a change that is resilient to changing screen resolutions, replace C:\Windows\Web\Screen\img100.pngwith your new picture. Then delete the resized image caches from C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\SystemData\S-1-5-18\ReadOnly\LockScreen_Z. You'll need to take ownership of the folders/files in question to access them.

Alternative: Disable the lock screen. To do this, search Settigns for "group policy". Navigate to Computer Configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, Personalization. Set "Do not display the lock screen" to Enabled.

    This is NOT the answer and the tag that say's it is needs to be removed. This is false advertising. Not cool MS.

    Here is the solution from another part of Microsoft that I found.  Did it myself and it worked.

    To change your lock screen picture

    You can choose just one favorite photo to use as a lock screen picture, or pick a few to create a lock screen slide show.

    1. Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.

    (If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.) 2. Tap or click PC and devices, then tap or click Lock screen. 3. If you want to use just one photo on your lock screen, tap or click Browse, and then choose the picture you want (you can choose photos on your PC or OneDrive). 4. Tap or click the picture you want to use to select it, then tap or click Choose Image. 5. To play a slide show on your lock screen, tap or click Play a slide show on the lock screen to turn it on. 6. Tap or click Add a folder and browse to the folder where you saved the pictures you want to use. 7. Tap or click the folder to select it, tap or click Choose this folder, then tap or click OK. You can pick up to ten folders.

    Note

    • By default, Windows will only use the pictures that fit best on your screen for the lock screen slide show. But if you want to use all of the pictures in the folders you selected for your slide show, tap or click the Only use the pictures that will fit best on my screen slider to turn it off.
