It is now august 2014 and they still have no solution. Microsoft this Is a great way to show you care about your consumers. Won't be buying from Microsoft ever again.
Windows 8 continously loses wifi connection

Hi,
I am about to completely lose my wits with this. We all know Windows 8 is not user friendly by a long shot. In the beginneing I thought it was my brand new way too expensive Asus Zenbook that was the problem. I have this computer:
ASUS ZENBOOK U500VZ 15.6" WQHD+
GeForce GT650 2GB,Core i7-3632QM,8GB RAM,2x256GB SSD,Windows 8
It runs Windows 8.
Since I got it it has had a problem with dropping the wifi connection.
The steps taken to resolve it are:
Change settings in Power Plans
Changed adapter settings under "Power Management"
Run -> ipconfig /flushdns
All other laptops and iPads and iPhones running on the routers are fine. Problems persist on OTHER wifi networks as well, and from searching the web I can see this is a COMMON problem with Windows 8. HOW to fix this? Does Microsoft NOT realise it's customers would like to be able to use the internet without losing connectivity...

I am back in Europe atm and have steady wifi in my apartment, but then again the router is a mere 4 meters away..
I ended up having to set my entire business on hold for 6 months while I was away, or having to use ethernet cables.
I am going to Asia again after the summer, and will check the status then. Mind you, I experienced some similar problems on my Android phone overseas. If the wifi signal was bad, I'd sometimes get a "limited connection" icon on my phone, whereas my iPad would be functioning normally.
Maybe Apple is worth all the hassle and the restraints?
I really can't believe that in 2014 WIFI connection is a problem on 2500$ computers with modern software. No pride left at Microsoft.

2014-06-08T09:51:20+00:00 A few months ago it seemed that I found a solution by changing the Energy settings for the WiFi-adapter. Since then the problems have occured again but I havent posted anything in here as I have been busy trying to access the Internet :).
After hours and days of irritation and troubleshooting the following actions seem to work, at least the connection is more stable with fewer intteruptions.

where especially the DOS-commands at the bottom of the page seems to fix the issue !

2014-05-24T03:37:53+00:00 I am having the same problem with my Dell N5080. This is driving me crazy! I can't believe Microsoft can't or won't fix this. I am so tired of losing connectivity! I have the newest computer with the "latest" Microsoft software, and while everyone else stays connected to the internet, I at times spend a majority of my time just trying to stay connected! Come on Microsoft get off you buts and fix this issue!!!! If it is not fixed soon I will ditch Microsoft all together and get a Chromebook.

2014-05-20T08:14:33+00:00 Connecting to wi-fi seems to be a struggle for Windows 8 so best bet seems to use an Apple device, phone, tablet or maybe Linux. Basically everyone else seems to manage it fine. Maybe Microsoft could call someone and ask how they program their software.
