How can I disable or remove password startup on Windows 8? I have no need to password protect my PC and I would like to remove it.

Press the Windows + R keyboard shortcut.

Press the keyboard shortcut.

Then enter control userpasswords2 in Run dialog box and hit enter. uncheck the box named Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer

Apply button to see the Automatically Log On dialog box. Enter your password

and click ok.

    Thank you, Thank you.  With other people's suggestions, I totally could not succeed. Probably the page on their computer was different due to the fact we may have different carriers.  I searched and did step by step what they suggested and still couldn't find the area to click on.  Your explanation was something I Could Understand. Finally sucess. Thanks, again,  Betty

    I tried this and because I don't have the Administrator password to allow me to do ANYTHING on my own computer, this won't work.  Any other suggestions????
