How to mount an ISO image with Windows 8?

I'm using Windows 8 Pro x64.

How do I mount an ISO file in WIndows 8?

I right click on the ISO file and the menu that pops up does not give me a Mount option. At the top of the menu it says Play. There is not a mount option anywhere in the menu. I looked in the Open With option but Mount is not there either.

Did you try the following?.

Right-click an .iso file > Properties > click "Change" under the "General" tab > click on "Windows Explorer" > OK

in the file type column, does the file show "Disc Image File"?

There is no built in ISO Mounting app with Windows 8. You will have to use 3rd party software to mount an ISO Image.

Windows 8 only comes with the ability to burn ISO images.

that is completely incorrect, win 8 DOES have the option to mount iso files when you right click on them.

In fact its the first item on the pop up menu AND its highlighted in BOLD

Devilgas I see the mount as you said but I want to mount it to my partition C: drive for a dual boot of Kubuntu. What suggestions do you have?

False. You can right click on any ISO and the top option is Mount as long as you have the 'open with...' settings set to Windows Explorer
