Lumia 1020 Camera Won't Hold Focus

When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.

Is the camera broken?

Thanks.

There are a couple of ways to test if the focus is at least working correctly:

    (1) With the camera in Auto Focus mode, aim at a scene where there is something close and something further away, tap area of the screen where the close and distant objects are visible, and you should see the focus change as below.

    (2) Manually adjust the focus, you should see the focus change on the preview image.

If these tests show the basics working correctly but you still not getting the results you want from your photos, then we would need to consider operating conditions. Does the blurred imaging happen always or in certain lighting conditions, inside or out, etc.? Remember that longer exposure times also leave you susceptible to tiny movements of the phone itself.

If you can identify specific conditions in which results are not as good as others, then we have more to investigate, but so far we have not been able to reproduce this concern internally.

Craig, I am having the same issues that others have described. I would like to create a video so your technical team can see an in depth demonstration on how this issue is affecting the cameras ability to focus. I have some experience with product testing and believe I can convey the information to you in a very helpful way. I can you contact me with the proper way you wish this video to be delivered to you? I was considering a unlisted YouTube link.

Sorry for the rant. Perhaps the issue is in software because the camera attempts to focus it just doesn't hold. I also tried the Blink app and its doing the same thing as the pro app.
