Lumia 1020 Camera Won't Hold Focus

When using my 1020, I hold the shutter button halfway down to let it autofocus. It proceeds to do so briefly, but as I push the button, it loses focus and results in blurry photos. The manual focus does a little better. If I tap to focus, I can usually get the focus I want after 10 or so tries. This issue comes up at any focal distance.

Is the camera broken?

Thanks.

I have the same issue.  Sometimes when the main camera is initialised it will auto - focus ok for a few seconds, then suddenly it will de-focus and be stuck on close up focus.  It won't manually focus and nothing seems to reset it - with the exception of leaving the phone alone in a cool place for a couple of hours.  Strangely, the camera may then trun back on and focus fine for a while.  However, I might only get 2 or 3 good shots before the focus locks on close up again.

Nokia don't seem to be publishing anything to us about the issue despite the large number of people complaining of it!

So yep after reading the posts here think I should just drop it off at a Nokia carepoint centre. I've noticed not only is focusing a nightmare as its hit and miss and any camscanning apps redundant the IOS seems to be a little off. I have a really steady hand so I most of the time get razor sharp photos but when a friend takes a quick snap its rarely in focus.

So I've got my finals coming up but ill drop it off straight after and see what they have to say. As far as everyone goes I think it cant do any harm trying it as we're all theoretically under the two year warranty still.

Has there been an update to this problem, My ATT 1020 has prgressivly gotten worse, used to be incredibly sharp at focus, now its dificult to get any shot to focus, pure dumb luck if it does. Night pictures are almost out ofthe question, as with indoor pictures in poor lighting. These were the cameras stong suits. The camera also makes more noise that it did at first, a mechanical sounding noise.

I'm having the same issues with my Nokia Lumia 1020 camera.  Is there any fix for this? I specifically purchased the phone for the camera and this is very irritating.  I don't want to have to send the phone in to get fixed, I use my phone for work and cannot send it in for an extended period of time.  Can someone please let me know if there has been a fix for this?
