Messaging App in Windows 8 showing duplicate outgoing messages

Lately, the messaging app in Windows 8 has been malfunctioning.  When I send an outgoing message, the original message pops up at the bottom like normal, but it is quickly followed by a duplicate of the same message directly underneath it.  What's going on?

    MIne stopped duplicating as well - looks like they found the problem! Yay!

    Well, I chose to simply wait and see what was going to happen, rather than attempt any potential solutions. It appears that the double post issue no longer happens to me, regardless of whether the contact is on or off line or solely a Facebook contact. I hope everyone else has their issue resolved, soon.
