The very least Microsoft could do is simply issue a fix for this problem, since so many people are having the same problem. But why won't they do it, it's so simple to fix on their part. My real fear is that this is some sort of intentionally made problem geared to make consumers BUY some type of fix-it program. Please God tell me Microsoft has not degraded to that low level of merchandising scheme.

Here it is years later, and still having a problem.   Memory used on an 8 gig machine was well over 5 gig.  I took the following picture once I was able to use my computer, however, at one time memory was at 99% utilization.

Sorry to say this on a Microsoft forum, but I use Windows only for certain work related apps that do not run in Linux. If you can partition a disc, you can install Ubuntu and create a dual boot computer. Windows needs to learn from Linux how to make software secure, efficient, and not take hours to update. I hope there are Microsoft programmers who are working on that problem.

    Hi Suzanne,

Just to clarify your concern, kindly answer the following:

    • Why are you attempting to stop the Windows Modules Installerservice?
    • Are you also experiencing the same issue like the original poster?
    • Are you the administrator of the computer you're using?
    • Which version of Windows are you using?

We'll be waiting for your response.
