Hello
I got a call from a guy with a really heavy Indian accent claiming to be working with Microsoft.
He told me that my computer had multiple problems.
He then told me to hit the Window icon on my keyboard and R (Which is to activate Run)
After that, he told me to type in "www.ammyy.com" and hit enter.
Right when he said that, I got suspicious.
I checked their website and it seemed legit.
I decided to google "AMMYY" and I saw "AMMYY scam"
I checked lots of posts having the EXACT same thing
-Indian guy
-AMMYY
-Computer problems
-Work for microsoft.
I hanged up and shut down my computer just in case. (I"m paranoid)
I turned back my computer on and the guy called me again.
He asked me why did I hanged up and I told him it was an accident.
He asked if I downloaded AMMYY yet.
I told him this "I ain't getting my computer hacked today, buddy." and hanged up again.
I ran a full computer scan with Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security.
(Which I trust since it went with my computer)
So my question.
Who are these guys?
How many people work with them?
Why aren't they sued yet?
Is my computer safe?

You're fine. They cold called you and have no access to your PC since you didn't install anything or allow them to connect to your PC.
Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft does not make unsolicited
phone calls to help you fix your computer

2014-04-16T18:18:48+00:00 Since nothing else much works, I've been just picking up the calls and clicking off, so hard telling if these guys have called me back recently.
I DID have a good one yesterday though... Caller ID said "Chase" so I picked it up and a male voice said "Hello, this is Barbara from Account Services".
Seriously? ... best laugh I had all day...
Either ol' Barbara needs her drinking water checked for high levels of testosterone, or she's stuck part way through some complex operation.
In any case, I hung up and laughed for a while about that one.

I got more than THIRTY CALLS over a 3-month period. Since it was obvious from the first syllable out of the guy's mouth on the very first call that it was a scam or worse, I yelled at him every single time, starting with the first word, told him I was going to call Interpol [which, obviously, would do nothing, but I figured he might not know], told him he was a criminal, etc., etc. Remarkably, he hung on and took it and kept trying to convince me he was real. ["Really - you KNOW what messages I'm sending out? No you don't, you dumbass!"]
I yelled at him so much and threatened him so much that for the longest time, that I never got down to the point where I even figured out what he wanted me to do. But one time, I decided to play along long enough to find out. He had me go to the event log, where he had me find a bunch of error flags. Like water splashes on a bathroom mirror, everyone has them, mostly for TCP/IP packet failures, but they are harmless. But if you've not seen a Windows event log before, they might look dreadful. Then he said he wanted me to go to AMMYY and download something. GOTCHA. AMMYY is a legitimate company. Apparently, they wanted to get into the space occupied by GoToMyPC, but THEY are the real victims, since these yayhoos are using their software for bad purposes.
I told him he was full of ****, and hung up. I got maybe 10 or 20 more calls, and each time delivered a long stream of insults to his integrity, calling him a crook, a swindler, and maybe a terrorist. After about 6 months, the calls dropped off to zero.
The Indian government has just GOT to do something to eliminate the grinding poverty for so many of its citizens, so they will not have to resort to stupid **** like this to make a living!

2014-04-16T12:29:08+00:00 These people kept calling me over 10 times trying to get me to try and understand what he was talking about at first. When I did get the chance, just like the rest of everyone they wanted me to download a program on my system. I called my friend who knows programs and he came up on this site. I can't wait for them to call again, after that he won't anymore.
