Hello Maheeb,

Welcome to Microsoft community where you will get best solutions for Windows related issues.

I understand that you have hard time opening Microsoft Store in Windows 8. I would definitely help you in fixing this issue.

Let us start with couple of questions:

1.       Which account are you using to login, Microsoft or Local account?

2.       Do you have proxy server enabled on Windows 8?

3.       Is the issue specific with Windows Store or with other applications as well?

Perform the following troubleshooting methods to fix the Store issues:

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run Windows 8 App troubleshooter to diagnose and fix the issue.

You can download the app troubleshooter form this link “Windows 8 App Troubleshooter”.

Method 2:

If you are using Microsoft account, then I would suggest you to switch to Local account and then check how the apps work.

Follow these steps to switch from Microsoft to Local account.

a.       Press “Windows key +W”.

b.      Type “users” without quotes in the search box.

c.       Then select “Users” from the left panel.

d.      You will get an option “Switch to a Local account” right below your user account name.

e.      Select “Switch to a local account” option.

f.        Enter the required details.

g.       Then login to the local account then check how the apps work.

If you are using Local account, then I would suggest you to switch to Microsoft account and then check how the apps work.

Follow these steps to switch from Local account to Microsoft account:

a.       Press “Windows key +W”.

b.      Type “users” without quotes in the search box.

c.       Then select “Users” from the left panel.

d.      Select “Switch to Microsoft account” right below your user account name.

e.      Enter the required details.

f.        Restart the computer and then try to login using new Microsoft account.

Method 3:

If that doesn’t work, then I would suggest you to create a new user account and then check how the apps work with new user account.

Follow these steps:

a.       Press “Windows Key + W”.

b.      Type Users in the search box and select “Users” option from the left panel.

c.       Select “Add Users” under “Other users” option.

d.      Add the user profile details.

e.      Then login to the new user account and then check if this fixes the issue.

I hope this helps you to fix the Store issue. If the issue persists or you have any other issues with Windows, please do post it in Microsoft Community. We would be happy to help you.

    Hi Thomas,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community forum.

This error usually occurs when the date and time in the system does not coincide with the actual date and time. Check if your system clock time is set according to your time zone. Please refer to the steps mentioned below to change date and time.

    1. Open Date and Time by pressing Windows key + X, Select Control Panel from the list, clicking Clock, Language, and Region, and then clicking Date and Time.
    2. Click the Date and Time tab, and then click Change date and time.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    3. In the Date and Time Settings dialog box, do one or more of the following:
    4. To change the hour, double-click the hour, and then click the arrows to increase or decrease the value.
    5. To change the minutes, double-click the minutes, and then click the arrows to increase or decrease the value.
    6. To change the seconds, double-click the seconds, and then click the arrows to increase or decrease the value.
    7. When you have finished changing the time settings, click OK.
    8. To change the time zone, click Change time zone.
    9. In the Time Zone Settings dialog box, click your current time zone in the drop-down list, and then click OK.
    10. Note: If your time zone observes daylight saving time and you want your computer's clock to be adjusted automatically when daylight saving time changes, make sure the Automatically adjust clock for Daylight Saving Time check box is selected.
    11. Click OK.

If issue still persist try to check the system files are they working fine or not and to check that try to run System File Checker (SFC) tool.

SFC scan will scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows 8.

    1. Press Windows key and X at the same time.
    2. Choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the context menu.
    3. In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.
    4. Exit command prompt.

For more information refer to this link:

Hope this would help. If issue still persists post back with current status of your computer and result of proposed suggestion, we will be happy to assist you.
