Installed this today, it caused my Poppeeper to be flagged with a -1000 error. Rolled computer back and problem cured. Have hidden update until i know what to do.

YMMV but...

...Microsoft is aware of an issue some customers are experiencing when installing KB2670838 on certain laptop systems with hybrid graphics. We are looking into the situation and are considering blocking the update for systems that could be affected. Customers who are experiencing issues on systems that already have installed the update should consider uninstalling KB2670838.

In the near future (one assumes), Microsoft should begin offering home users (only!) no-charge support for IE10 install and uninstall issues. You also may be eligible for the support if an IE10-related issue causes your computer to crash or if IE10 does
 not let you browse all sites. For now, however, you're on your own so you're best bet is to hide IE10 (*and KB2670838 IMHO*) & stick with IE9 for the time being.

    We had two computers with it today with bad problems - but very different:

    machine 1 (win7 x64):

    • max, min, close buttons missing on office 2013 apps.
    • Intel Rapid Storage Applet would crash
    • Sonos music player app would crash in background (no splash screen)
    • rollback wouldn't work
    • Norton AV broken

    machine 2 (win7 x64):

    • IE would crash
    • chrome would crash
    • Calculator was fully transparent - yes - kind of cool like glass!  And any numbers entered would pile up on each other.
    • Norton AV was going crazy stacking up ghost instances in the task bar

    machine 3 (win7 x64) - no obvious problems, but it's coming off - not interested in finding out later.

    No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

    The impact iof the update differs from one computer to another.  On this computer with only Internet Explorer 9 installed I have noticed no perceptible difference.

    have you checked outlook? and word  have you checked WLM,  have you checked running video on the computer? unless you have a virgin computer with nothing on it- you probably are lucky but most people have more then just ie installed

    You should not use system restore to remove an update. Next time  to remove an installed update see:

    My point was that some users could have installed the update 3 months ago. I was seeking to establish whether any users complain about the update had done so.

     

    Coincidentally I have installed the update on this computer and see no ill effects. 

    I suggest you do some testing, people are reporting real wierd things happening the day after this update
