After loading and later repairing Windows Essentials I continue to get an error code of 80004001 when starting Photo Gallery,
It comes up right after the initial Photo Gallery screen appears.

I'm sorry, I still get the same 80004001 error.
I followed the instructions to the letter and everything seemed to go perfect.
The uninstall, the stopping of the start-up services, turning off Windows Firewall, the download and install of Windows Essentials, then turning the Firewall back on.
The only thing I didn't do was go through the Windows Messenger configuration that starts automatically after the install.
Hi,
Based on our investigation, it seems that there are some corrupted remnant files from your previous installation that might cause the application to malfunction. To remove these files, you need to perform a clean installation of Windows Essentials. To do this, please follow these steps carefully.
1. Uninstall Windows Essentials using the CMD line parameter, this will remove all the traces of the previous installation in your system including corrupted files. To do this, please read the note and then follow the instruction in the solution article below:
Note: Make sure that you place the wlarp.exe on the correct folder before performing the steps in the solution article. The file should be in this path: c:\program files (x86)\windows live\installer folder****or c:\program files\windows live\installerfolder.

2. Disable startup programs. This will isolate the issue if some of the startup programs in your computer might cause the problem. Do steps 1-3 from this link.
3. Temporary Disable anti-virus/firewalls/third party security software.
**Note:**Disabling the firewall may make your computer or your network vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. Please make sure that you do not have any other Internet Explorer window open or any other programs running while trying to install Windows Live products. Once, you are able to install our services, please turn your firewall back on.
4. Install Windows Essentials, please click the link below in order to download a fresh installer from our website and check if the issue still occurs.
