Why is it even suggesting an 'older' update?

1. Once you get the error 80070643, you will need to go look for the log file.  The log file is located in the system temporary folder and the file name is random, but begins with the letters "Msi" and end with a .log extension. To locate the Temp folder location: Click Start, type (%temp%), then press Enter.

I found my log file in a bit different location - not user temporary folder (set in %TEMP%), but system temporary folder (not set in environment): C:\Windows\Temp\

I just got done uninstalling everything MS games for Windows everything and the update went away. I then reinstalled the 3.5 version direct from MS and the update reappeared. Doing the update again it still fails with the same error message.

Everyone around the other forums are complaining about the Windows Live Gaming Client and I have to agree. It's got to be one of the most worthless pieces of code that was ever written.

Does anyone else here have net framework 3.5 installed along with net framework 4.0?

I just checked my desktop and the update isn't even offered to me on it and I've got games for windows on it too, what's up with that?

Offered to one machine and not the other?
