I forgot the password to unlock my lock screen. its a NOKIA LUMIA 900... HELP!!!

i have a Nokia Lumia 900, and i tried to reset it by using using the volume button, camera key and power button...but it isnt working! i dont know what else to do. i cant go to my "settings" tab and change the code because my phone is locked...i cant use it for anything, my screen is locked and i dont remember the password. i need to fix this and i need help, please someone help!

The only option if you have forgotton your password is to perform a hard reset.

  1. Power off your Nokia Lumia 900.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Camera keys simultaneously, and then press and hold the Power key until the Nokia logo screen goes black.
  3. Release the Power key but continue to hold down the Volume Down and Camera keys until the phone reboots.

    Does this mean that if you forgot your lock screen password someday, there is no way you can use your phone without losing data? Do you absolutely have to hard reset the phone?

    If this is the case, then Microsoft has to come up with a better solution. One should be allowed to change the lock screen password from the find my phone option on windowsphone.com.  The option to Lock my phone should have a feature which would allow one to set a new password for the lock.

    I hope this problem is rectified soon.

    I am having the exact same problem, does anyone have a fix for this?  The hard reset doesn't do anything except restart the phone, still locked.
