Batman: Arkham city: Games for windows live doesn't pop up!
Hi, I'm here today because I have some problems with Games for Windows Live, or GFWL. I used it for many games, including Arkham Asylum, in which GFWL works fine, but when I try to open up GFWL in Arkham city pressing home, nothing happens. I reinstalled GFWL, updated it, and did all sorts of things, but nothing seems to be working. Any fixes? (Basically, I'm saying that even with GFWL installed, GFWL does not pop up in Arkham City even when I press home button and the "LIVE" button in-game.) Thanks in advance.

2013-04-16T10:54:26+00:00 Nope no dice bro. Still doesn't pop up. My windows live is in windows 7 compatibility mode. Could that be the issue? Because doing that was the only way I could get windows live to pop up for arkham asylum. I'm on win8 64-bit.
So GFWL pops-up in Arkham Asylum, but not in Arkham City?

2013-03-16T15:16:58+00:00 So i tried all the solutions stated in the thread... NONE helped me... Then i found one of my own and it all worked like charm.. I am with Win 8 64bit... I believe that my solution is applicable to all 64bit OSes... Since GFWL is made for 32bit systems when we install it on a 64bit the following files:
xlive.dll
xlive.dll (Security Catalogue)
xlivefnt.dll
xliveinstall.dll
xliveinstallhost.exe
are installed in “Windows\SysWOW64 instead of "windows/system32" where GFWL looks fro them once Batman starts...
All you have to do is copy the files above from SysWOW64 to system32... in the Windows folder... it's the only thing that worked for me ;)
Good luck :D

2013-03-13T07:42:44+00:00 Okay buddy, listen up(Applies to all Windows 8 x64 sys users), if you still haven't found a solution after going through these pages, here's the solution(dotnet 4.0 should do fine):
- Uninstall gfwl. Restart your sys.
- Download gfwl from here: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/LIVE/PC/DownloadClient
- Right click on the gfwl setup icon, select Properties, move to the Compatibility tab, and set your Compatibility Mode option to WINDOWS 7(very imp!).
- Save and run the setup.
- Start up your game and it should work.
Proof: I've tried it on my pc(win 8 x64). It works just fine!
Even More Proof: Lots of other win 8 users have thanked me.
