Windows 7 update not working

I know Microsoft hasn't a fix for the windows7 updater. if it was windows 8 there would be a hopping to fix the program? I tried everything yesterday and got no wheres fast.

Worked for me too when a Sony Vaio upgraded to a Crucial SSD M500 stopped running updates after cloning the hard drive with Acronis software :)

Downloaded the drivers from:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail\_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=23496&ProdId=2101&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20%20\*&DownloadType=Drivers

Thanks to all on this forum, I don't know who was the first to stumble on this fix but I never would have thought of upgrading the Intel Storage Drivers

Hi, Thanks for the advise but it is not working

Go into Control Panel >> click on Windows Update item

Click on Change settings (at top left)

under Important updates, click on the down-arrow pull-down

Click on Never check for updates

press OK

Close the Control Panel window

Then Logoff and restart Windows fresh.

When ready, go back into Control Panel >> click on Windows Update item

Click on Change settings (at top left)

under Important updates, click on the down-arrow pull-down

Now make the selection that you need for automatic updates

press OK when done

Close the Control Panel window

 

Next, do a fresh visit to Windows Update. Kindly advise on results.

I have the same problem.  Attempted the solution above.  After carefully following all steps, I am told I need to check for updates.  When I click on "Check for updates" the same box appears telling me to "Check for updates on your computer."  Before all this it told me the service wasn't running.
