I have tried this method several times with zero results.  I get error code 800736B3 and have found no answers on how to fix it so I can get updates.  This is really screwing up my PC.  I have used Windows Update troubleshooting, but to no avail.  It always says it fixes the issues, but in reality it doesn't fix anything.  What else is there to do but junk this entire system?

Might as well give it up and just reinstall Windows.  Only way it's ever going to work again!  I bit the bullet after fighting this for almost a year and just reloaded windows.  Working fine......for now!
