Just to let you know, I have done an SFC and there were no integrity violations. I'm currently running Kaspersky's Virus Removal Tool and it detected a Trojan.
What does 'possible heap corruption detected' mean, when listed in the Event Viewer?

Should I be concerned about the stability of the system/memory if I see 'possible heap corruption detected' in the Event Viewer. There are no details listed as to which program might be causing the possible heap corruption.

Well at least Action Center knows Panda is installed, even if does acknowledge it is functioning. I think your copy of Panda may just be an out of date version. Updating Definitions is not the same as updating the version of the programme.

Email Panda with a link to KB2028210 and ask them whether there is an update to resolve the issue?
Late Edit:
Comment in KB2028210. "Please contact the antivirus\antispyware\firewall vendor for a newer version of their software." Panda may have a later version than the one you have installed. Have you checked? The KB Article was issued in June 2010 so they have had ample opportunity to deal with the issue!

2012-05-02T11:35:13+00:00 The Action Center reports Panda IS and Windows Defender being turned off, even though Panda is switched on.
I am now seriously concerned that a virus has attached itself to Panda.

2012-05-02T11:17:21+00:00 Panda is providing real-time protection. Windows says that Panda IS 2012 is turned off. When I go to turn on Panda, Panda IS appears, but there is still a red X on the Action Centre icon in the system tray.
A Microsoft tech support person referred me to an article, (Article ID: 2028210), which states that:
Due to a change to the Security Center interface for ISVs, some antivirus, antispyware, and firewall programs could be incompatible with the Action Center in Windows 7.
This means that the Action Centre reports them as not being properly installed.
The question is, if I do have a virus on my computer and Panda doesn't recognise it, what can I do?
