I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Go to Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center

There is a title: "Review recent messages and resolve problems"

Under that I had three warnings. Than I turned everything on.

After that I was able to install .net 3.5 without the 0x800f0922 error code.

Use the

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

solution.

I hope it works for everyone with this.

I had the same issue but updating the Group Policy Setting under administrative tab helped...

Refer to Method 2: Configure the Group Policy setting in .. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2734782/

Hope someone can save some time..

With respect, isn't that a bit like a lawyer looking through the small print to find a get-out? As I said previously, everything else seems to be working fine.

Perhaps MS should not assume we can all afford an i7. I can't justify buying one - I'm a pensioner.

I was pursuing this because it seemed to me that the thing should work. If it's coming down to finding fault with the equipment, well that is a possible cause but I am not going to be buying  anything new just yet.

I don't even need to use a video editor that requires NET 3.5, there are those that do not seem to require it and I may never use anything technical that needs it.

I'm going to forget the whole thing and do without NET 3.5!
