I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Go to Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center

There is a title: "Review recent messages and resolve problems"

Under that I had three warnings. Than I turned everything on.

After that I was able to install .net 3.5 without the 0x800f0922 error code.

Use the

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

solution.

I hope it works for everyone with this.

I had the same issue but updating the Group Policy Setting under administrative tab helped...

Refer to Method 2: Configure the Group Policy setting in .. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2734782/

Hope someone can save some time..

i need more then what you gave me to figure what ur missing

I need to OS that came with the computer. and 32bit or 64 bit

    and which one is your's?

» HP xw6200 Base Model Workstation
    » HP xw6200 Workstation

Its history is shrouded by mists of time. I bought it second-hand. I don't think the base model had 2 processors fitted - this has. I upgraded from XP32 (which may have been installed to sell it) to XP64 before going on to Win 8 64.

The irony is that XP64 was fine but software houses were not supporting it.

Connected but of no value here - NET 4 is installed on the pc. Cannot programs be made to use this instead of NET 3.5? (I have little idea of what a NET Framework is).

Horked? You could look it up => http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=horked

    Did you upgrade to Win8?

Have you tried doing a Reset yet?

There are many definitions there, including a squirt from the nose, which could be a desription of something I suppose. If the poster meant "currupted, broken software", that doesn't really fit because everything works ok except this particular feature.

I prefer to use proper English words. Why be obscure, unless to appear clever?

Reset - is that the one where I lost all my programs and had to start again with a dozen installations?

Yep - tried EVERYTHING, as I said.
