Hi,

The error also means that there isn't enought power in the USB port where the device is plugged-in. I would suggest connecting the device to another USB port or use a USB hub that supplies it’s own power.

Check if it helps.

Update:

What I had to do was uninstall all USB controllers, restart my computer and then go back to Device Manager and set all my Generic USB ports and USB Root Hub controllers to disallow the computer to turn off the devices to save power by unchecking all four boxes so the message should not appear again. You can complete the latter step by right clicking on all the Generic USB ports and USB Root Hub ports, clicking on properties, clicking on the Power Management tab, and unchecking the box that says "allow this computer to turn off the device to save power". Please note that you will have to uncheck the box for each Generic USB Hub and USB Root Hub port individually to ensure that the message does not return. You may also go to Regedit and follow this path: HKEY_Local_Machine/System/CurrentControlSet/Services/USBCCGP+USBHUB. Under both USBCCGP and USBHUB: Right click and click on New, on the new menu click on DWORD and a New Value field should appear. Now type in this new value field: DisableSelectiveSuspend and hit enter. Finally, click on the newly created DisableSelectiveSuspend field and click Modify; in the Value data box type 1 and press okay. Complete all steps for both USBCCGP and USBHUB.

    hello everybody

lets start with being nice, i try to also fix this issue at my pc...

i have done other Things you seem to forget about...

and i most say this post is full of lack of detail and miss leading directions

but where is a lie is also a half truth of this current problem

for the first we have all diffrent mortherboards + we have also diffrent drivers to that board

so cant say its that or that problem then i read above post reply

so no i will not debat your entrys , to many of your dont have right information gather on where to even locate this issue....

what i did was simple ... i remove all my usb device ... then i still had the bug.. so i knew ... this was a problem inside pc and not one of my usb device,

then i figure out its the bloody harddisk usb3.0 ( SSD and new HD can be here now )

then i can see in my case Renesas Electronics - USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver - USB 3.0 Host Controller Utility

this is the problem in my pc...whatever you have in yours i dont know.

so my problem start with Gigabyte download drivers

    Renesas(NEC) USB 3.0 Driver

OS:Windows XP 32bit,Windows XP 64bit,Windows Vista 32bit,Windows Vista 64bit,Windows 7 32bit,Windows 7 64bit 2.0.30.0 5.61 MB 2010/12/21

and i have even update that driver through iobits driver booster that found a newer once

but same result... and how do i know if this Work... simple as above also menation i unistall that software and problem goes away... so we have bug where a peice of **** software clam there is a problem then there is none,, all my units Work,

so 2 thing either unistall and get 2 unknown device ... and it Work anyway my harddisk is there and accessable in my case....

i have even wrote to gigabyte half year ago ,,, they want my mortherboard, because they think it cant be the driver...

i just wrote Renesas , but i doubt that will help then its gigabyte product with a Renesas onboard device

but this is where i'm atm...

i hope this can bring others with same annoying problem with that taskbar that cant be told to shut up

it even have a option box that should Work , but it dont Work on my pc ...every restart of pc ...popup warning....

i hope you all will write to your own mortherboard support and tell them to fix this buggy software...

or this will be ongoing for years as it already have

With Reference to USB power surge which occurred on computer wakeup with mp3 player charging.

I unpluged player and plugged it in. USB port then reappeared. Error fixed.

I have a Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 controller that came with the Asus motherboard.

I Found that after much trouble shooting the problem did not lay with the machine but with the power being omitted from the device, in this case a label printer, there was a faulty USB connection at the printer which caused the error
