same problem. I really wish Microsoft actually cared about it's customers. If any signs of other alternative programs with easy setup. I will jump at it if microsoft doesn't fix this problem.

This feedback was provided under Windows 7, however action has not been taken to correct this issue for Windows 8 either.
ERROR:
Display driver error – the video playback device does not support playback of protected content.
ISSUE:
Media Center with a CableCard tuner doesn't work at all on DisplayPort, because DisplayPort is not detected as HDCP compliant by Media Center. CableLabs Certifited DisplayPort as HDCP compliant but Media Center still hasn't been updated and it still thinks that it's not compliant.
REQUEST:
Requesting Microsoft to produce a patch so that DisplayPort is detected as HDCP compliant by Media Center.

Can you confirm you had this working for copy-once programming?
MS please fix this issue. It has been years since it was reported (in W7) and you have completely ignored it. I would upgrade to W8 for this one feature alone.

2013-04-20T13:11:56+00:00 Bought a AMD Firepro v7900 + windows 8 Media Center + Silicondust Prime + Adobe stuff to do video editing. Really surprised that Media Center won't support displayport. Hard to believe Microsoft is the weak link with all their resources. I can't imagine this taking a software engineer more than an hour to fix.
