Microsoft windows search filter host is burning my cpu usage.

I have also reformatted the hard drive, and reinstalled windows 8.1. Same Problem.

I am constantly pulling up task manager and shutting it down!

It is pulling 95% CPU. Two or more times a day!

I don't care if it takes longer to search for something.

I don't normally have to use the search feature, I know where everything is

that I need to find.

It's like having a brand new computer with windows 98 in it.

My neighbors old WEBTV unit is faster than my HP Touchsmart.

Try changing the power settings. My machine is very stable since I changed to high power
