Windows 8 Start Screen and Apps Not Responding

What is obvious is that it's related to the live tiles. Whenever I restart the explorer and go to Start Screen, I have about 2-3 seconds to do what I want and then it freezes. 

What I think, is that why should the whole explorer (and most of the Windows' works) stop just because live tiles won't work properly.

Since one of the users mentioned and I had the "Live Tile" app, I uninstalled it but it didn't help.

I wanted to re-install my OS but since there's too many users complaining about this, I think that won't help either and I'm bound to face this problem even after spending a full day re-installing my Windows 8.

Please Microsoft, DO SOMETHING.

I have much the same issue as those reported here, except I'm running an instance of Windows Server 2012 inside a Hyper-V 3.0 virtual machine.  There's no driver issue as it's all virtual and all Microsoft :)

The issue happens regardless of whether I'm using RDP to access the server or if I just use the Hyper-V console.

Using the built-in administrator account (ie domain\administrator), which can't use the Windows Store, everything is fine.  But if I log on as my own domain account then the start screen freezes.  I can manage to bring up task manager and see that Explorer it waiting on service host, specifically the RPCSS service.  It's a special service and Windows doesn't appreciate life if that service is interfered with - it deliberately blue screens :)

I too see the Time Broker service terminating and being restarted many times.  Additionally another pair of events sourced from Schannel with ID 36870 report

A fatal error occurred when attempting to access the SSL server credential private key.  The error code returned from the cryptographic module is 0x8009030d.  The internal error state is 10001.

Not sure if that's related - off to do some Bingin'

I might remove recent updates otherwise.

I have the EXACT same issue. I press Winkey a few times and Explorer will crash and restart. I checked the Event Viewer and just like stated here, I have the error messages related to Time Broker too. In Event Viewer:

I've got A LOT of these errors.

I have very high hopes for this OS but about 2 weeks ago I spent approximately 4 hours with Microsoft tech while they logged onto my computer, I thought initially it was because of office 2010, because after a system restore it worked.  It was fine for about a week, but alas it has been doing it again very frequently.  I reboot into safe mode, then back at normal and it's fine, but if I reboot again I have to go back into safe mode.  I have a six core 3.33 processor, 24 gb memory and gtx2601.8 gb video card on an HP elite hpe190T computer.  It is no slouch but I'm seriously beginning to question whether or not it is worth it.  Microsoft gave me the $99 log me on service for free in which they looked around, but after 4 hours that wasn't even worth it for a temporary fix.  Does anyone know if Microsoft is even working on the issue?  I am not an apple fan by any means, but their OS is looking better and better.  I like windows 8 and am even planning on getting the phone, but this is getting ridiculous.  It's a huge inconvenience and no one even seems to have any answers.  If anyone has found a permanent solution please let me know.

I had the same problem.  My administrator account linked to my microsoft account froze on the start screen with the same problems described here by others, while my wife's account (not administrator, also linked to microsoft) worked fine. It appears it was linked to some HP Digital Imaging Monitor and hpwuSchd Application from the startup tab of Task Manager (from safe mode).  I was then able to start up fine.  I think the issue was from the HP print center app I installed.  Everything appears to be working fine now.
