What is the BEST Registry Cleaner for Win 7 Ultimate or Pro 64 Bit version OS ?

And with that experience you proofed what every reasonable thinking person can figure out for himself, and that is that an important system file like the registry should be kept clean and tidy.  A registry maintenance program should have been part of Windows from the very first moment that Microsoft started to use the registry, but it seems they just couldn't be bothered. Shame on them, I wonder how many people had serious problems like you had just because Microsoft was and is too lazy to come up with such a program.

I can only speak from the experience I've had over the past two weeks wrestling with a nagging issue where opening Windows Explorer was taking 5-7 seconds to finally open the screen.  Other tasks such as extracting files was very slow.  I should first mention that I have an Intel i7-4770 with 32GB of RAM and an SSD drive for my OS.  I run two VMs from a separate SSD drive.  Things were running great until about 3 weeks ago when everything just started slowing down.

I ran Disk Cleaner to make sure there was no remnants that could be causing issues.  Nothing helped.  A full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials revealed three java viruses.  They were cleaned but Windows Explorer performance was still the same and selecting between drives had noticeable lag.  I installed Malware Bytes and it located 2 Trojans in an old folder that I haven't touched in years.  But this did nothing to help performance.  I decided to give AVG Antivirus a go after discussing it with a co-worker.  I installed it and did a full scan.  Nothing was found.  But at the end of the scan the AVG PC Tuner trial appeared on the screen suggesting that it could possibly help my computer.  I said "ah, what the heck", let's give it a shot.  It found around 2000 invalid Registry entries and several dozen invalid shortcuts.  I pressed GO for the one-time maintenance run and the next thing I know I'm back to like it's the new computer when I built it last year.  Windows Explorer now responds immediately and there is no longer any delay anywhere.

I have never been a proponent of such registry cleaners, but the AVG PC Tuner was what fixed the issues on my computer.  I'm not going to argue that everyone needs to try this.  All I'm saying is this worked for me after spending at least 12 hours trying different methods to address the issue.  I just wish that I would have done this at the beginning.  It would have saved me a lot of time.

Microsoft  really  needs to TEST  all Registry cleaners &  make a list of the Top  5 BEST  software  for many different uses and post that list so  your Customers can  know what is the Best to use to Fix  their PC  problems .
