What is the BEST Registry Cleaner for Win 7 Ultimate or Pro 64 Bit version OS ?

I don't care if the registry is accessed in a different way. Junk is junk, and there shouldn't be junk in the registry. If some one for whatever reason uses the registry editor, he should only find entries that have a purpose, no leftovers from removed software or other junk. I don't have the knowledge to organize the registry, but I'm not claiming to have it. I expect the supplier of the operating system to have that knowledge and to supply us with tools to keep the registry in pristine condition, and not the garbage can it is now.

When Windows NT hit the market, I asked with various known companies if they had a tool to defragment and reorganize NTFS volumes. They all told me that NTFS was so great, you didn't need such a tool. Yeah, sure ...........

I've worked for years with the operating system that was the example for Windows NT (and thus Windows 7, 8 etc.), and at least it is documented in a way that Microsoft can only dream of, and it has all the tools you need to maintain it in the standard distribution kit.

There's no need for any sort of "registry maintenance tool" at all.

And why would you think it's not "well organised"?

Do YOU have the requisite knowledge to "organise" it?

I don't care if orphaned registry entries have no effect op computer performance, that is not the issue. If there is anything I learned in my almost 40 years in the ICT, than it is to keep everything clean and tidy. The registry is a very important system file, it should be well organized and clean as a matter of principle. The fact that Microsoft can not provide us with a tool that checks, cleans and repairs the registry can also be interpreted as an admittance that the whole registry idea has grown out of control. They no longer are capable of checking if the registry is consistent. A tool for registry maintenance should be a standard component of a Windows distribution.

Sorry, that's rubbish. Orphaned Registry entries have almost NO effect whatsoever on computer performance.

If your computer is getting slower and slower starting up, then look elsewhere for the problem.
