0xc000000e Boot Error

[b]Windows failed to start. A Recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
Choose your langugae settings, and then click next
Click "repair your computer."

Status: 0xc000000eInfo: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.[/b] I got this error after some random point in time on my computer. At the time I had two instances of windows on my computer and after this point it took me a week or two to find my windows install dvd but once I did none of the repair tools seemed to work and it would always end up with this error. I then decided to give up and just install windows 7 on the hdd I didn't have an instance of windows on since I have 3 hdd. This worked well for 4 days until this morning when the same error message popped up on me. I hadn't even gotten around to reinstalling all the same programs as my other instance of windows. Also in the meantime while using the newest instance of windows the computer never recognized that there were 2 other instances of windows but now today while going about fixing the newest instance of windows it did decide to recognize that there is at least one other form of windows on the computer. While rebooting trying every type of repair tool I was able to boot into the older form of windows but none of my programs worked and I wasn't able to connect to the internet and eventually on a random reboot in which I didn't press any buttons I am again on my newest version of windows. I really have no clue what is going on and this is quite frustrating at the moment since I don't know what is wrong. I thought it might be one of my hdd but unless it is all 3 of them then I really don't think it is them. Also when running the restart repair (I think that's what it was called) it said it could find no problems but there was one root error. I am not sure what that means but maybe that might help. If there is any additional info that would help to find the solution to this problem please let me know. Thanks ahead of time for any assistance.

1. Since when are you facing this issue?

2. Any recent changes made to the computer?

Method 1:

Unplug all the external devices and try booting and check.

Method 2:

Check if you are able to boot in safe mode or not:

If yes,I suggest you to put the computer inclean boot state and check.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note:

After you have finished troubleshooting, follow these steps in the above article to reset the computer to start as usual.

If not,try perfomring astartup repair and check:

Method 3:

If not, I suggest you toRebuild the BCD store manually by using the Bcdedit.exe tool.

This just happened to me after a BIOS update on an Asus PP8Z68-V LX to the current BIOS. I had issues in the past due to RAID configuration in the BIOS but that was settled on the last build (rock solid stable for 18 months). After the BIOS flash I got the above message. Tried changing the SATA settings to RAID, ACHI, etc. none worked. Tried changing the graphics from onboard Intel to PCIe, again nothing.

Tried the Windows 7 install DVD and was told recovery was not an option as the Windows 7 install disk was not compatable with my version of Windows????? WTH is up with that? Well, tried getting to a command line to no avail, F2 did get me to advanced options were Safe Mode with command line failed, everything failed. Basically, ALL the system does is boots/reboots in a cycle and with the install disk the only option is to install the OS. No recovery options work or are accessible. So now that is about 8 hours down the tubes to install Win7, download the SP and install, install all the updates, patches, hotfixes, etc. then use the recovery mode to try and restore from my last image backup....

Go to command prompt (in advanced options) and hit following commands to repair MBR.

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Press [y] when system asks you to accept.

Exit

Now, use option: Refresh your PC in advanced option

Reboot

My problem is solved ( 0xc000000e). Try for yours.

Brilliant, the first 3 steps did it. Thankfully, didn't even have to perform a refresh (I think that would have uninstalled most programs).

My problem is solved ( 0xc000000e). Try for yours. what if i have a preinstalled win8 that has been upgraded to 8.1? i relied on auto repair i didnt make any recovery damn it blue screen appears with the same error f8 works but none of the options what the **** i gonna do?
