Windows Update fails to install updates KB2539636, KB2533523, and KB2468871.

my windows update has installed updates today august 10 2011. but these three dotnet updates (KB2539636  KB2533523  KB2468871) failed to install... can anyone help me please?? thank you...

btw i am using windows 7 home premium

...x64 - is for 64bit WIndows 7

...x86 - is for 32bit WIndows 7

How to find out if Windows 7 is 32bit or 64bit is here:

Maybe what you can try (before you try points 1..11) only turn Off your antivirus and turn Off UAC, then manually install the updates  that failed to installand  run Windows update to install rest of updates. Turn On your antivirus and turn On UAC. How turn Off UAC see point 5).

If these steps above not help, try to use these ones:

1) uninstall Net Framework 4.0 client from „Uninstall and change program“:

2) If you still see Net Framework 4.0 client in „Uninstall and change program“ use this tool for unistallation Net Framework 4.0 client:

    download, unpack and run „cleanup_tool.exe“ – from pull-down menu choose „.NET Framework 4“ and click „Cleanup Now“

  1. After uninstallation restart computer
  2. Turn Off (Disable) your antivirus
  3. Turn Off UAC (User Account Control) – howto do it:

6) Download and install Net Framework 4.0 from here (choose right language):

      (same for 32bit OS and 64bit OS)

7) restart computer

8) try to install manually all updates (KB??????) that failed to install

9) run Windows update and install rest of updates

10) T****urn On UAC (User Account Control) – howto do it:

11) Turn On (Enable) your antivirus

    LC informed me in e provious message:

    I'm not sure if "dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe"is the cause of the problem. But as anotherprocedure, when the updates do not installfor "Net Framework" - the complete uninstall andthen reinstall these updates as you did.

    Here is the tool, which can help withuninstalling (if from some reasondoes not go normally the uninstallation):

    I think, with the tool and info from that site you will be able to uninstall.

    After that , simply run Windows update and you will get .NET4 and all related updates (is my experience)

    Good Day LC,

    I did the .net framework clean up, where do I re-install the correct .net framework?

    I don't see .net framwork in my programs in programs and features to unistall or change program.

    Windows 7, 64 bit

    And thank you again for all your help, only one in 3 days to point me in the right direction.

    I am getting the same errors - manual updates give me a message that these do not apply to my computer or that they are blocked.  I am running vista home premium SP2 32-bit.  I think MS needs to look at this.  Seems to be a widespread issue with these three updates.  I have tried various solutions suggested here and elsewhere with no success.
