This worked for me...

1. Access this file location C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloadand delete everything there. (Note delete only content found there and not the Download folder itself)
2. Open CMD (command prompt) with run as administrator (admin privileges) and run this command: wuauclt.exe /updatenow

The Update Window should pop-up with downloading Windows 10 again, and if your lucky it will be the complete kit this time.

I don't have any problems downloading Win 10, it just errors on install with the above error code. How do we fix that? If it helps the install was going fine until we had a power outage last night. My PC restored 8.1 when I booted it back up but now it won't install Win 10. I've followed all of these directions numerous times. Each time I download Win 10 through update the file size grows. Thoughts?

In the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download file, do I delete EVERYTHING? I have files or downloads dated back to 2012?

Some of the files are:  Should I keep or delete the following files????????
