How do I change the mouse click from double to single?

Ha, not where you think, try this:

Click, Start>>>Control Panel>>>Folder Options>>>General Tab>>>Click items as follows>>>Single click/Double click

If you don't see folder options in the control panel, click on appearance and personalization, then folder options will be listed and change it to single click to open an item and point to select, save.

Do you want to always use a single click to open files, run programs, etc?  If so:

  1. Go to Control Panel > Folder Options .
  2. Under Click items as follows , select one of the Single-click options.

    Just want to point out this only works for 1/2 of the window in windows 10.  The left hand portion that has "quick access" does not support this.  So if you want to remove several references  from quick access at the same time you cannot select more than one file.
