Hi,

Method 1:

Disconnect all the external devices (printers, scanner, USB (Universal Serial Bus) drives, etc...)Except mouse and the keyboard and then boot up.

If this corrects the issue then add the devices back one at a time until you discover the piece of hardware causing the issue. Then get any updated drivers\software for the device.

Method 2:

If you still come across the issue, I suggest you to run Hardware Troubleshooter and then check for the issue.

If you still come across the issue, I suggest you to run Hardware Troubleshooter and then check for the issue.

a)     Open the Hardware and Devices troubleshooter by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel.

b)     In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Hardware and Sound, click Configure a device.‌

c)       If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Access the link below to know more about Hardware Troubleshooter:

Method 3:

If the above step does not help us to diagnose the issue, uninstall the drivers for USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller and restart the computer. Let Windows install the generic drivers and then see if it helps you to fix the issue.

a)     Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, then Device Manager in the search box.‌

b)     If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

c)      Look for the device under USB [Universal Serial bus] host controller, right click on it and select Uninstall.

d)     Reboot the computer.

e)     On reboot, Windows 7 should re-install the drivers automatically.

Method 4:

If the above methods don’t work you can try to reinstall the drivers for your Canon Camera. To do so refer the link provided below:

Hope it helps. Please let us know for further assistance.

THANK YOU!!! We just started moving from Kaspersky to Sophos, and I've had 3 instances of this since we started migrating. Deleting the UpperFilters value fixed it immediately. You rock, Simeon!

I received this same error this past weekend when I tried to connect my Nokia Lumia 822 Windows 8 Phone to my Windows 7 laptop.  I actually had used my Nokia with my laptop on several occasions prior to that without issue.  So, I was a bi confused when this started to happen.  I actually suspected iTunes which I had updated recently on my laptop.  However, after several hours of troubleshooting and uninstalling and re-installing drivers I came up with the most awful solution.  I powered off and powered back on my Lumia 822 and all of a sudden connectivity to my laptop started working again.  I guess I should have remembered rule #1 - just reboot.
