Green check marks on desktop icons

Suddenly all my desktop icons have green check marks on them.  What does it mean?  How do I fix them?

Suddenly all my desktop icons have green check marks on them.  What does it mean?  How do I fix them?

Hi,

Do you use norton 360? Norton -> Settings -> Backup Settings -> Backup Status Overlays -> OFF -> Apply.  After you run your next backup (you can do it manually) the check marks will disappear.

    Refresh in a Blank area of the desktop does not remove the green check marks on the PDF Icons

    I do not use Norton AV, use McAfee

    My icons keep fluttering between an x then a green check mark. I use AVG anti virus, any help would be appreciated
