Just got off the phone with Bose, again.
They told me to have the volume on the computer at full 100% to feed the speakers a full signal. He said that basically the speakers work in the same way a DVD player or other device
that sends it's audio to an amplifier for sound processing. A DVD Player, CD Player, Blu-Ray Player, whatever it may be has no variable out on the audio. It is one constant strong signal.
I have connected the Companion 5's back up via USB. Volume at 100% and controlling volume only through the pod. No more keyboard volume control.
Set the speaker not to allow any communication from Windows. No Enhancements, No Exclusive Mode (I was told let the speakers do the processing) and set the speakers as the default
audio device.
We shall see how this works.
Otherwise the recommendation was to hook up a iPod or Zune to the pod via cable, have the volume at 100% and see how that works out.
It just bug me that I did not have to jump through any of these hoops for a year with these speakers.
Man do these speakers sound awesome!
I will report back with results!
