Why does Windows 7 have typing problems?

When i type on the internet or on games, I often open new tabs or open other problems, simply by typing.  Sometimes what I'm typing will get erased, filled in with something else, or just won't get typed at all.  I was told this is a Windows 7 bug.

OK -here is what I did and CURSER SKIPPING HAS STOPPED for me -so everyone -persist and you shall prevail.  I went into my control panel and clicked on mouse to change the touchpad settings.  But there was NO Touchpad listed!  So, I went to Dell and found a mouse/touchpad driver for my make and model and downloaded it.  Then after I re-started my computer, i went back to the Control Panel and clicked on Mouse Settings and sure enough Touchpad was listed.  I changed the pad sensitivity to HARD -since I use an external mouse (Wacom Tablet, actually) and check it out -NO MORE SKIPPING!!!

As I stated before I do not have Windows 7, I have Vista.  We all have the same prob with different laptops and different software and programs -but somehow -at least in my case - it was the touchpad.  Maybe the static from the winter months?  Who knows.  I waited 24 hours before telling you  -but still NO SKIPPING  -so try it!  And don't throw your laptop out the window!

See if the behavior persists if you boot into safe mode, or use a clean boot.

Not just a Visa or Windows 7 problem.  I have Windows XP on a Dell desktop.  Happens when I type anywhere - usually am in email mostly.  Cursor just shakes and takes forever for a letter to show up after I have typed it and then bounces to end of document, etc.  GRRRRRRRR!!!!!  Have great virus software and run malware program that finds nothing.  HELP!!!

I too am experiencing the same and have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista.  Tried to disable the internal mouse and it only allows me to Uninstall.  It was doing this skip thing before a recent crash and after everything was wiped off, cleaned up and some reloaded -it happens still.  My computer guy put everything back on clean and installed new security software -so it is even more confusing.

We all have different software and different computer models - someone please help us!
