As the title says, I want to have my speakers and my HDMI to play at the same time from the same application, I've only been able to select one OR the other as default device: If I: Select speker as default device Start playing something (and can of course hear it from the speakers) Select HDMI as default device Then: Speakers stop playing HDMI starts playing I just want both to be playing together. It took some time searching around but I finally managed to find an answer by myself, I'm posting the solution here in case anyone has a similar issue: Open Sound panel Select Speakers as the default playback device Go to the "Recording" tab Right click and enable "Show Disabled Devices" A recording device called "Wave Out Mix", "Mono Mix" or "Stereo Mix" (this was my case) should appear Right click on the new device and click "Enable" Right click on the new device and click "Set as Default Device" Double click on the new device to open the Properties window Go to the "Listen" tab Click on the "Listen to this device" checkbox Select your HDMI device from the "Playback through this device" list And you're done, the drawback is that you won't have a microphone selected as default recording device, but for what concerns me I couldn't care less.

Hi capitano666, I have the same problem, and I followed your instructions, but on step 5 the only device that shows up is "Internal Microphone, Conexant SmartAudio HD". I tried following the rest of the steps but I still only get sound from one source. The only difference is now the other source is outputing sound picked up by my microphone, so all I hear is echo and feedback. Any advice? All I want to do is have my HDMI connected TV speakers playing as well as the headphone/speaker 3.5mm output jack simultaneously. Thanks in advance. :)

Does anyone know if this shortcoming will be designed out of Windows 8? This is a sereious problem with a product that you expect us to take seriously as a "Media Center" operating system! I can't listen to bluetooth headphones while my wife listens to TV through the speakers. We are not the only couple in the world who need this capability. There are many other reasons why a user would want two simultaneous audio outputs when using Media Center. Please fix it.

what i want to know is how to use hdmi splitter and connect to computer and get sound it to use with pc because CUSTOM DRIVER AS DESIGN CALLED VIRTUAL AUDIO CABLE allows to set line 1 as primary sound device and use control applet to adjust latensy to 1 ms and open audio reapeter and choose line 1 wave in wave out your soundcard and set the channels for each stereo speakers so you can have 10000 speakers how do i get hdmi audio to computer via splitter?

in your startup folder in startmenu everytime windows start you can use all soundcards at same time you can decide how much sound of speakers in sound
