Mouse settings not saved after reboot/restart

I am changing the speed at which my mouse pointer moves across the screen. I am 'applying' the change then selecting 'ok'. The mouse point then moves faster as set. Then after restarting/rebooting the computer, the mouse setting is back to the default slower movement speed. The changes are not saved after the reboot. What is preventing the mouse movement speed change from being saved?

Mr. Brian,

Please try the following steps. Doing this should allow you to keep all the settings in the SetPoint software while at the same time resolving your issue.

1. Click the Start orb, type msconfig in the Start Search box and hit Enter If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue 2. Within the System Configuration dialogue box, click the Startup tab

3. Look for any entries named KHALMNPR or similar, and uncheck the box next to them (there may only be one)

4. Click OK and restart your computer

5. After the restart, change your mouse pointer speed and restart

When I clicked Startup, all that came up was, "To manage startup items, use the Startup section of Task Manager." I didn't see any KHALMNPRin the Startup section of Task Manager.

Didn't work. There was nothing to open under "Start Up" (in the "System Configuration" tab).

Still have the issue. Every time I start my computer I have to change my mouse options to left-handed. Isn't there a permanent way to keep my mouse options to "left-handed"?

SOLVED!

Setpoint will not remember your settings upon reboot because it may not be launching in the taskbar at startup. If you can't see the setpoint icon in your taskbar after a fresh reboot... force it!
1. Launch the Task Scheduler
Example: Start Menu → All Programs → Accessories → System Tools
1. From the Actions panel on the right, select Create Task...
a. Give the app a name of your choice in the "Name Section"
1. Go to the Security Options on the General tab
a. Select an user account with administrative privileges

b. Select the radio button Run only when user is logged on

c. Check the box Run with highest privileges

4.Go to the Triggers tab and click New...

a. In Begin the task, select At log on

b. In the Settings options, select All users

c. In the Advanced Settings options, check the box Enabled

d. Click OK to close the dialog
1. Go to the Actions tab and click New...
a. For Action, select Start a program

b. In the Settings options, browse for the Program/Script you want to execute on

startup

c. Click OK to close the dialog
1. Go to the Settings tab
a. Check the box Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed

b. Uncheck the box Stop the task if it runs longer than
1. Click OK to save and close the task properties

doesn't work for me sadly. I typed "msconfig" followed by "enter" in the misconfiguration box I clicked on "startup" but just got the message: "to manage startup items, use the startup section of task manager"
