Pictures.library-ms is no longer working

I keep getting this message but my pics are still there and my pic slideshow screensaver is still working.  how can I fix this?

Hi,

I would suggest you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

To fix this problem, open Windows Explorer, right-click on the corresponding library (Pictures, in your case) and choose Delete. Click yes when asked for confirmation.

Note: Deleting a library does not delete the contents of the included folders. However, you may need to re-add or include your folders manually, if needed.

Then, in the navigation pane of Windows Explorer, right-click Libraries and click Restore default libraries.

This recreates the library that was deleted earlier. This option only restores the default libraries.

Please respond back and let us know the status of the issue.

    Thank you for your help.  Did this only today and it worked fine.  Did not lose any photos at all.

    It also worked on documents.  Thank you

    Thanks for your help. I did as you suggested, but after restoring default folders, I do not find any of my pictures in there!...are they all lost?

    I see the photos in the home page [windows 8 home page with all the apps]; but when I click on the pictures gallery there is nothing!

    please help

    I have tried it and it doesn't seem to work for me.

    Help! I don't know what I'm doing!

    It seems as though all my pictures are still there, just that the Pictures folder will not open.
