How do I add search filters?

When trying to search I click in the search field in my file explorer window. I see "Add a search filter" and a couple options below that "Date Modified" &  "Size" that I can select. How do I add more "clickable" search filters? I can only select those two filters. How do I add more to select?

Hello and thank you for your question.

In the explorer search window, you can click on those options you mentioned like “Date Modified” or “Size” to give you a list of even more refined options. For example, if you are in your music folder:

Without clearing the Search box, click Genre in the list of filters, and then click Jazz from the list of dynamic values. Windows Explorer adds Genre to the existing Length filter, allowing you to refine your search further.

    Same here.

    The whole SEARCH system stinks.

    I’m a computer program and  I don’t want to have to use a QUERY LANGUAGE to find files

    ·       with a keyword in its name or

    ·       files over a certain size or

    ·       created after a certain date.

    All of which I could easily do in Win XP with a menu but can’t in Win7

    Don’t you know that WIN 7 SEARCH of  files on a keyword returns every file CONTAINING the keyword ( not just contained in the FILE NAME) ?  And I have no idea how to change that to how it used to work in XP.

    I forgot to mention...

    Again on the pictures themes but I have to assume this would work with any date. If you query the search box with 'datetaken:' a date picker pops up after you type the colon. Whatever dialogues might apply to other criteria might be worth investigating as well.

    So weird that it's all there but yet it's a secret?
