Every time I shut down the computer ; no mater how often; it always comes up " installing 1 of 1 '

I was given help from microsoft once and it worked only for one day now it's BACK

HELP !!!!!

    Well, I have the same problem, and there is no errors in the install log, I get Installing updates up to 2.

    I am using SSD, 64Bit Windows 7. There is a few directories in the root with long numbers i can not delete.

    The fact there is no errors and yet this continues to be annoying.

    Next thing to try for me is the safe start mode and see if that clears it.

    Hi Ajay K

    I'm having a similar problem to this one, where every time I shut my computer down, it says installing update 1 of 1 but it fails to install.

    My operating system is XP.

    I followed all your steps, found the number for the update that wouldn't install, (KB2742597) ran the fixit and then went to the Download centre to do it manually.

    It started to install but after a few seconds this message appeared: The feature that you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  The path C\DOCUME"I\Owner\LOCALS"I\Temp\XP000"TMP\netfix.msi" cannot be found.

    It offered an alternative path but that didn't work either.

    It's so frustrating - can you help?
