Music flickers/crackles in Windows Media Player when browsing the Internet

No luck. I tried those drivers and the DPC spikes and noise appear after a day of running.

The problem occurs when copying files over the network or with internet usage. I'm using DPC Latency Checker v1.2 from http://www.thesycon.de/eng/home.shtml I don't think it logs, but it's clear to see the levels that are fine initially but gradually creep up into the red, until the system is rebooted.

I've tried 3 different BIOS updates, and tried network adapters in all available PCI slots (don't have a PCI express nic to try - is there such a thing?)

Also what is the repro scenario? Are you copying files over and over on your network? Or just regular internet usage? How are you monitoring the DPC's? If you are using our performance tools, please copy the .etl files up to your Skydrive site.

It's strange that every NIC you have tried is having this issue. Have you checked if there is a BIOS update available for your machine? Maybe try another PCI or PCI expres slot for the external NIC's as well.

I uninstalled the previous version (which I think was V10045), then rebooted, and then installed AR81FamilyWinSetup_1.0.0.47_WHQL.rar

I'll run that for a day and see if the problem occurs. I'll post results same time tomorrow. (right now, I don't see any spikes, but the spikes don't usually appear until after several hours of running)

BTW, I was optimistic about the Realtek RTL819/810x nic which was looking good, but after 24 hours of running, it also started showing very high DPC latency spikes.
