About a while ago I ran chkdsk to check and recover bad sectors and fix system files and it then froze at 43% on stage 5 of 5. I left it on through out the night and I went to school and came back it was still at 43%. I then manually shut down the computer and ever since I have been trying to fix the problem. It was the second time I ran chkdsk on this pc while having windows 7 I usually run chkdsk every month or so to make sure everything is functioning right. After my problem occured I have tried so many things i have ran spinrite,I have reinstalled windows, I have tried to run chkdsk on safe mode, I have tried sfc/scannow, and chkdsk /p and all of these things did not fix the problem. Chkdsk /p was the only thing that didnt even try to fix anything because it said invalid parameter. Also when I reinstalled windows 7 on my pc then chkdksk froze at 49% on stage 5 of 5. I even ran diagnostics from the bios and I use Seagate Seatools and both diagnostics said my hard drive was perfectly fine. I also tried running chkdsk from the windows 7 cd and for some reason it completed in less than 2 hours. I then ran chkdsk from the pc and it then froze again this made me think that there had to be something wrong with my pc. So I was wondering how can I get chkdsk to complete perfectly from my pc again instead of using the windows 7 cd each time.

What I think did the trick was all the changes you made to your documentation at the end. By that I mean the unchecking the Overwrite Files thing. Also I think running check disk from UBCD also did the trick because I saw that as UBCD preparing the partition to be open for use by Windows 7 when I ran check disk from Windows 7. What I do recommend you not to put in the documentation is the part where you said to make sure you dont check the Local Disk C: in the right pane and to check all files and folders in left because as soon as you checked all files and folders in the left Local Disk C: at right would automatically be checked.

Now is a good time to create another Image Backup of your now fixed Windows partition and the smaller 100MB system partition. THis will be your reference point or baseline backup.
So tell me which one of my last few suggestions and or changes about and for the Acronis restore options did the trick? I would like to make the proper changes to what's posted on my web site.
It's best to start another post, but keep in mind once you reinstall Windows 7 using the built in partition tools available during the reinstall you will undo the bad sector fix. Past the link to your new post back to this post or I may miss it.
Also as you indicated your laptop still in warantee so you might consider having the drive replaced a be rid of the sector issue once and for all.

I have great news my friend. I ran check disk and it completed for the first time ever since the last time my laptop has been running the right way. Is there anything else you want me to do?
Also as for reinstalling Windows 7 I am planning on starting another problem or thread for you to help me there so you can get more points if its ok with you.
My test PC is down right now but as long as that single box in the upper left stays unchecked it should be OK.
You can uncheck the System Volume information if you like, that folder contains any previous 'Restore Points' you have created.
