About a while ago I ran chkdsk to check and recover bad sectors and fix system files and it then froze at 43% on stage 5 of 5. I left it on through out the night and I went to school and came back it was still at 43%. I then manually shut down the computer and ever since I have been trying to fix the problem. It was the second time I ran chkdsk on this pc while having windows 7 I usually run chkdsk every month or so to make sure everything is functioning right. After my problem occured I have tried so many things i have ran spinrite,I have reinstalled windows, I have tried to run chkdsk on safe mode, I have tried sfc/scannow, and chkdsk /p and all of these things did not fix the problem. Chkdsk /p was the only thing that didnt even try to fix anything because it said invalid parameter. Also when I reinstalled windows 7 on my pc then chkdksk froze at 49% on stage 5 of 5. I even ran diagnostics from the bios and I use Seagate Seatools and both diagnostics said my hard drive was perfectly fine. I also tried running chkdsk from the windows 7 cd and for some reason it completed in less than 2 hours. I then ran chkdsk from the pc and it then froze again this made me think that there had to be something wrong with my pc. So I was wondering how can I get chkdsk to complete perfectly from my pc again instead of using the windows 7 cd each time.

I think Norton Ghost should do the job since Norton is pretty popular, and yes I do have a usb it is 4GB big and i think all my important files put together is 3.28 GB. Also now that I think about it I have a Norton Ghost that I have never used that my father gave me since he didnt want it anymore, I will try that.
You pick the software and as long as its free or I have a copy it should be about 48 hours as I.m in the middle of some beta testing which should finish up by tomorrow.

Yea anything to help me fix this problem. Like for how long do I have to wait for your results? I have a question do you actually think making a backup of my pc be worth because I agree that it would just place the same corrupted sectors in my pc. Also wouldn't Disk Cloning be the same thing as making a backup or is it different than making a backup, can you please explain disk cloning a little more because I have done backups but not disk cloning so I'm curious. Im sorry for my lack of knowledge. :-(
By the way, if you have the time and can wait I can try out the cloning process and see if it's a viable solution.
