Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the root of the C: drive. (Make sure that the View settings are set to show "All" hidden files and folders.
Did you create any personal folders at the root level?
If not then the only folders that you should see are:
Windows, Recovery, ProgramData, Program Files, Documents and Settings, Users, PerfLogs, System Volume Information, $Recycle.Bin
(If there any other folders other then those listed above please list them)
What "files" are located at the root level, normally you should only see the following:
autoexec.bat, config.sys, hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys If there are any other files please list them.
What are the sizes of your hiberfil.sys and pagefile.sys ?
How much memory does your laptop have?
