About a while ago I ran chkdsk to check and recover bad sectors and fix system files and it then froze at 43% on stage 5 of 5. I left it on through out the night and I went to school and came back it was still at 43%. I then manually shut down the computer and ever since I have been trying to fix the problem. It was the second time I ran chkdsk on this pc while having windows 7 I usually run chkdsk every month or so to make sure everything is functioning right. After my problem occured I have tried so many things i have ran spinrite,I have reinstalled windows, I have tried to run chkdsk on safe mode, I have tried sfc/scannow, and chkdsk /p and all of these things did not fix the problem. Chkdsk /p was the only thing that didnt even try to fix anything because it said invalid parameter. Also when I reinstalled windows 7 on my pc then chkdksk froze at 49% on stage 5 of 5. I even ran diagnostics from the bios and I use Seagate Seatools and both diagnostics said my hard drive was perfectly fine. I also tried running chkdsk from the windows 7 cd and for some reason it completed in less than 2 hours. I then ran chkdsk from the pc and it then froze again this made me think that there had to be something wrong with my pc. So I was wondering how can I get chkdsk to complete perfectly from my pc again instead of using the windows 7 cd each time.

Yes I wanted that 100 Mb partition and the small backup partition and the windows partition back to normal by this I mean no Unallocated space and the bad blocks being fixed.
If Partition Wizard only does a quick format then is there some other program that does the job.
And yes I am done with filling all sectors to zeros.
Not a problem.
It was I who believed you wanted to merge the "Test" partition back into the Windows partition (including that small partition that has the bad block).
What you wanted when all is said and done is the 100MB partition, the C: (Windows) partition and the small backup partition Yes/No?
By the way I was testing Partition Wizard for about the last hour (both the bootable CD and Windows versions) and sad to say it only performs a "Quick" format when creating new partitions.
How you finished with filling all sectors to zeros?

Im sorry J W Stuart but I am a bit confused. I have been trying to figure out what you exactly want me to do. All I understand is that you want me to make one partition and format it and then run check disk on it. What I am confused about is that you want to delete every other partition and take all that space and put in the windows partition and then format that. If I do that then the system reserved would be deleted and I dont know how are we going to get to windows to even start check disk. If I were to format that big partition how will we even get to run check disk. Is Norton ghost capable of bringing all the partitions and information back to the hard drive and if that were to happen wont we copy back the problem we are trying to solve?
Im sorry...is that I am so confused right now. Please write back the exact steps and a explanation at the end saying the cause of all that.

So how far is it along, the big test is if it can do a "Full" format and check disk has no problems either before or after you expand the Windows partition.
