About a while ago I ran chkdsk to check and recover bad sectors and fix system files and it then froze at 43% on stage 5 of 5. I left it on through out the night and I went to school and came back it was still at 43%. I then manually shut down the computer and ever since I have been trying to fix the problem. It was the second time I ran chkdsk on this pc while having windows 7 I usually run chkdsk every month or so to make sure everything is functioning right. After my problem occured I have tried so many things i have ran spinrite,I have reinstalled windows, I have tried to run chkdsk on safe mode, I have tried sfc/scannow, and chkdsk /p and all of these things did not fix the problem. Chkdsk /p was the only thing that didnt even try to fix anything because it said invalid parameter. Also when I reinstalled windows 7 on my pc then chkdksk froze at 49% on stage 5 of 5. I even ran diagnostics from the bios and I use Seagate Seatools and both diagnostics said my hard drive was perfectly fine. I also tried running chkdsk from the windows 7 cd and for some reason it completed in less than 2 hours. I then ran chkdsk from the pc and it then froze again this made me think that there had to be something wrong with my pc. So I was wondering how can I get chkdsk to complete perfectly from my pc again instead of using the windows 7 cd each time.

First lets delete the "Test" volume and expand the Windows volume to recover the "Unallocated" space and run check disk.
I would expand the Windows volume in small steps, say 40GB, then run check disk, expand by another 40GB and run check disk.
Then Expand to reclame the remaining unallocated space and run check disk one last time.
If check disk reports no errors then we know for certain the bad block issue is fixed.

Sorry I reported so late I was a bit busy today. Both check disk and Hd tune passed/ had good results. I ran check disk from command prompt and I saw when it finished it said something like Windows fixed some errors of the volume bitmap.
I would like to extend the volume of windows back to how it used to be. At the same time I would like to reinstall Windows 7 just start out nice and fresh. Do you think it would be safe to reinstall windows?
Run check disk one more time on the 'Test Volume' and Try HD Tune, (provides drive info and has an option to test your drive).
For HD Tune click on the 'Error Scan' tab and run both the 'Quick' and the full test (takes longer).
If both check disk and HD Tune pass/good results, what do you want to do:

I tried the formatting again and I then restarted the pc after it was done even though it still didnt finish successfully. Then my laptop for some reason couldnt boot because no boot files were found so I ran startup repair from the cd and it worked. After my the windows logo with Starting windows went away Check Disk automatically ran on Test Volume but it was one of those short tests and it finished. Then i open Disk Management and suprisingly its there and it says that it is NTFS and that it is Healthy (Primary Partition). From there I right clicked on it and pressed properties and went to tools and it gave me the option to run disk defragmenter and Check disk. Good news by the way is that when I ran Startup Repair The created that System Reserverd Volume.
So do you think we can do something from here?
