Hi. I am trying to listen to an Overdrive protected audio file from a
local public library.
When I try opening the ODM file in Overdrive Media Console, for
delivery of the full media file, I get the error "Unable to aquire a license to play the selected title. The requested license is either invalid or already aquired"
I get an other error when I try to
get the "Security Upgrade" for WMP11.
I am using Vista 64 bit on a HP a67oof, WMP11, IE8
Overdrive media console is 16bit software so I dont know if thats why I cant get it work???

I followed the instructions to boot Windows in a Clean Boot mode both under my name and as the administrator. Even with everything disabled, the Upgrade button was still grayed out. So then i followed the instructions to manually upgrade my security component, but still to no avail.
Yikes, this is very frustrating.
craholtz: is the Upgrade button available when you boot Windows into Clean Boot mode?
If that doesn't help either, then you may have to reset the DRM system first. See Manually upgrade your security component at

Well I was able to run as administrator, but when I go to http://drmlicense.one.microsoft.com/Indivsite/en/indivit.asp the Upgrade button is still grayed out.
craholtz: I had a hard time figuring this out myself, but eventually found it. Make sure that IE isn't already running, then right-click the IE icon in the taskbar while holding Shift. The Run as administrator option should now be available.
