Windows update fails with error code 0x643

I have downloaded the recent Microsoft updates and all but one installed successfully.  The failing update was:  Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB953297);

with an error code of  0x643.

We tried several times to install it and it keeps failing.  It was originally the 3rd update in the list to install.  After failing the first time, it was the only one we were trying to install.  We tried it after the restart required for the other updates.

    I beleive this is the problem for the **.Net Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 Security Update.**Judging from your error there is an available KB Article ID: 923100 which will help resolve your issue. Although you may have to build .Net Framework from the bottom up which will depend upon the operating system you are currently using. You can follow the link that I have provided either for information or for resolving this issue. There is also means of contacting Microsoft Support from that link.
